Author Spotlight – Starla Huchton

As we prepare for the launching this year of the final season of Tales from the Archives, we thought it might be a grand idea to highlight the authors who have helped us along the way. These are writers who have created wonderful characters and adventures for the Ministry, and we highly recommend you check out their other work. This week, we bring you one of our first authors from our first season, who also now happens to design Ministry book covers, Starla Huchton.

Starla HuchtonWe first met Starla through the wonderful world of podcasting. She not only leant her voice to various podcasts we listened to, but also produced her own wonderful work The Dreamer’s Thread.

Over the years Starla has become a good friend to the Ministry, meeting at events and attending the Smoky Mountains Writing Retreat. So it was easy for us to give her the chance to show that one moment in Paris where Eliza D Braun might have fallen into the arms of her first London partner, Harrison Thorne. The result was From Paris with Regret, an adventure with just an edge of melancholy.

A prolific writer in her own right, Starla Huchton has been crafting stories in various genres since 2007. She is a three-time finalist for Parsec Awards for her podcast fiction work, and was the first place winner for Science Fiction & Fantasy in the Sandy competition in 2012. Her work spans science fiction, fantasy, New Adult Romance, Young Adult titles, Steampunk, Contemporary, and various other varieties of stories. She is greedy and likes all the genres!

When not writing, Starla trains three Minions, a black lab, and a military husband whilst designing book covers for independent authors and publishers such as the Ministry of Peculiar Occurences at Designed By Starla but you can find her written work here.
